Golden winged Warbler, Rio Magnolia Lodge, April 12, 2013 |
A quick post about the warblers I recently found on a trip to Costa
Rica. Although I didn't see any new species, I did find a total of 9 species
including Golden winged, Mourning, Tennessee, Yellow, Chestnut sided, Buff rumped
Warblers as well as American Redstart, Northern Waterthrush and Common Yellowthroat. As typical on
other trips down there the most abundant species of warbler were Tennessee and
Chestnut sided Warblers. Two of the species were new to my Costa Rica list: Mourning Warbler and Common Yellowthroat. My current total warbler species for Costa Rica is 18.
