Despite the weather mainly remaining at or below normal for temps for the last couple weeks of the month, the transition from winter to spring continues and as expected Pine Warblers started filtering into the area. I had one in Belchertown on the 26th that only sang a couple times and never showed. On the 30th strong southerly winds brought in warmer air and more birds and I had a couple Pine Warblers in Belchertown. To end the month Pine Warblers arrived in many areas they were not in the previous day and I had about a dozen for the day. Despite much effort to turn up an early Palm Warbler I had no luck.
