April has now come to an end and with a decent influx of early arriving warblers thanks to multiple bouts of great migration conditions and I managed to tie my best April ever in Hampshire County with an amazing twenty species for the month (I also had twenty species last year thanks to a few rarities and more early arrivals). I bet if I was able to get out a bit more the last couple days I could have added a species or two but I cannot complain with having so many species for April, especially with no rarities around. I did get a few record early dates for species including two more today with Cerulean Warbler and Worm eating Warbler (beating my previous earliest dates by a couple of days with Cerulean Warbler and a day with Worm eating Warbler...first time I have had either species here in April). Now we enter into the big month of warblers and I will be out as much as circumstances allow.
