The last several days to end out the third week of July have largely continued our hot and humid weather with frequent thunderstorms although we thankfully got a bit of a reprieve the last few days.  This time of year typically is a bit of a slow period as breeding is largely well underway or complete and warbler song has slowed down quite a bit and migration has not started.  There certainly can be some short distance dispersal of some species and I had evidence of that today in Ware when I found a Worm eating Warbler well away from any known breeding locations.  The ever increasing number of fledglings and the molting of adults result in some funky looking individuals and at least add some interest to birding in a typically dull part of the year.
