I headed out on the first day of June specifically looking for warblers. Although quite tired after my second Eastern Whip Poor Will survey in a row last night I still got out the door fairly early and started my morning at Mitch's Way where I had eight species including at least one Mourning Warbler. I then hiked up to near the top of Skinner SP before heading over to Quabbin Park where I stayed for a couple hours. As usual Quabbin Park had lots of warblers including the continued Lawrence's Warbler that seems to still be trying to attract a mate as he sings nearly continuously from mainly high perches. No luck hearing any Cerulean Warblers that has been in the park since at least May 22. I also made a stop at Lake Wallace where I had a Blue winged Warbler singing an odd drawn out song (video and recording in the list mentioned above). Beyond the Mourning Warbler I had no obvious migrants with most species appearing to be on territory. I had a total of 18 species of warbler for the morning with just these few stops.
