Now that the last month of the year has arrived I headed out in the hopes of finding a lingering warbler and was rewarded with multiple Yellow rumped Warblers at multiple locations.  This marks the second year (last year being the first) that I have found at least one species of warbler in Hampshire County for every month of the year.  With these two full years plus eight months in 2017 I have now seen a warbler in the county for 32 months straight...quite a streak I will try to continue to add to over the next few months.  I started the morning at Arcadia where I had some Yellow rumped Warblers yesterday and I had good luck turning up even more today with a group of four together plus a single at a different location.  There may have been more than five total but this is the maximum count I'm certain of.  My next stop for warblers was over to the East Meadows where I found another group of at least four individuals.  Both areas I found the warblers in have plenty of food and cover to allow at least some to overwinter once again.  The upcoming weather doesn't look good for getting out and looking for lingering warblers (or anything else for that matter) for awhile with a nor'easter looking to last from Sunday through early Tuesday with the possibility for feet of snow (I certainly hope the forecast is wrong yet again) so I was certainly glad to get out today and find some warblers.
