With record warmth starting yesterday I headed out after work in the morning to see what I could find at a variety of locations.  One of my stops was over to Arcadia to try to find a Yellow rumped Warbler that has been seen on and off the last few weeks.  I almost immediately had two or three moving through the area and watched them for awhile and got a few photos through the binoculars with the phone.  As I was about to leave I noticed a few more and then suddenly I had at least eleven of them around me...unprecedented for me in the county in February.  Until today I have never had any warblers in Hampshire County in February so having at least eleven in one spot is truly unusual.  Having found a Yellow rumped Warbler in January at Arcadia it looks like I may end up having at least one warbler species in the county for every month of the year (with only December being a less than guaranteed month with a warbler but very possible with some effort).

I headed back over today to try to get some better photos but unfortunately it was even foggier than yesterday.  I still managed to turn up at least ten individuals and got photos of a few.  Even if the viewing conditions were not too clear at least it was warm (starting out in the mid 50's and eventually warming into the 70's later in the day)...truly unusual for February.
