The fall warbler migration is just starting to heat up with a handful of mixed flocks around during my stops at Lake Wallace and Quabbin Park this morning. A total of 13 species of warblers this morning including at least two Mourning Warblers (an adult male and a juvenile) in the area they bred this year. Another highlight was a Louisiana Waterthrush (getting a little late for this early migrant). The next several weeks through the end of September will see the numbers and variety of warblers increase. Full lists from the morning with photos attached below:
