I have not posted here in quite a while as I have been busy updating my other page throughout the year but I thought I would post something for the end of the year to summarize a bit. I found a total of 36 species of warbler this year in both the local area and in trips to Florida and Costa Rica. In the local area I had another great year with warblers, managing to find 31 species. The fall migration produced a larger than normal number of a few species including Cape May, Bay breasted and Tennessee Warblers. These three species appeared to have had a very good breeding year likely due to a spruce bud worm outbreak. The trips to Costa Rica in April and December produced a total of 17 species of warbler with five of those not seen in the United States earlier this year.
